Mrs Hinch fan's 'cheap' cleaning hack helps dissolve stubborn limescale

Limescale can be frustrating to get rid of especially when it is on surfaces like steal taps, showerheads and kettles.

However, there may be a solution to the problem courtesy of Mrs Hinch's fans.

The dedicated fanbase to the Maldon cleaning sensation discussed the matter after a fan asked for help in a Facebook group, the Daily Star reports.

The fan wrote: "Any ideas on how to fully remove limescale from my glass shower screen?"

Many other group members offered multiple ideas to remove the stains from their surfaces with one product.

One wrote: "Viakal. I always dry off my shower cubicle too after each use which prevents it from even forming in the first place."

Another added: "Use Viakal and if it's bad leave it on for 30 minutes, might even need a second go if it's bad."

A third agreed as they commented: "Use Viakal, it's cheap and works in seconds."

Viakal is used to remove dirt and bacteria trapped in limescale while removing watermarks.

The product can also remove the toughest of limescale and it's ideal for use in the bathroom.

Other Facebook users were very complimentary of the product, which can be bought for £1 in supermarkets.

One said: "Viakal is amazing," while another added: "Don't even need to scrub with Viakal, just rub gently, the limescale will dissolve."

However, others suggested using white vinegar to help eliminate limescale.

While another agreed: "Cheap white vinegar does the job."

White vinegar is made from acetic acid which helps to break down crease as well as grime and limescale.

It also has antibacterial properties which can be mixed with lemon for a fresh smelling cleaning solution.
